Celebration of Wallace’s Life will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday October 1, 2017 at Pulliam Funeral Homes in Hutsonville, IL. Burial will follow in Hutsonville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. at Pulliam Funeral Homes in Hutsonville, IL.

Wallace R. Cooksey, 87, of Oblong, IL formerly of Palestine, IL passed away at 4:50 P.M. on Wednesday September 27, 2017 at his residence in Oblong, IL.
Wallace was born in Sullivan, IN on January 27, 1930 to Raymond and Mary (Robinson) Cooksey. On February 9, 1963 he married Nancy E. Hightshoe who preceded him in death on June 23, 1998.
Wallace served in the United States Air Force from 1949 to 1952. He was a member of the Dugger Indiana High School Class of 1948 and was also a member of the Living Church of God. Wallace enjoyed square dancing and working with wood. He was also very active and supportive of his church.
Wallace is survived by one son and daughter-in-law Tom and Sharon Haley, Oblong, IL; three grandchildren Cathy and Chad Case, Lawrenceville, IL, Jenny and John New, Oblong, IL , Andrew “Andy” Haley and Companion Debi Stewart Waggoner, Oblong, IL; three great grandchildren Tommy Yohe, Oblong, IL, Kelsey and Luke Houser, Newton, IL, Andrea Haley, Stoy, IL along with several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Wallace in death were his parents, one brother George Fox, five sisters Shirley Rickert, Ada Botts, Vera Osborn, Rosalie Davis and Laverne Fox.
